Books4Kids Jamaica welcomes new Board Members
MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA, April 18, 2023: Books4Kids Jamaica announced today that the charity has incorporated a new US entity known as Books4Kids Jamaica Inc. that will be supporting local efforts in Jamaica. The new entity is in the process of applying for status as a 501(3)c charitable organization.
The charity is delighted to welcome 3 new Board Members;
Noel “Sport” Sloley Jr., Board Member
Noel Sloley Jr. is the CEO of Jamaica Tours Ltd. (JTL), the largest tour operator in Jamaica. Jamaican in heart and soul, Sloley went to Cornwall College and took his first degree in Hospitality Management at Florida International University (FIU). With more than 25 years of experience from JTL, Sloley Jr. now runs the company that has provided free transportation for Books4Kids Jamaica’s annual book distributions since the charity’s startup 15 years ago. A truly philanthropic effort, JTL that has helped deliver books to more than 100,000 children. A great believer in Early Childhood Education as a means to changing a child’s life, Sloley Jr. brings his vibrancy, analytical skills and knowledge of the island to the board.
Robert W. Stolt, Board Member
Robert W. Stolt, hails from the vacation company RCI, where he has spent 23 years of his career as Vice President of Business Development. RCI is a long term sponsor of Books4Kids Jamaica. Stolt is a close friend to charity founders, the late Bob Trotta and his wife Ragni, of many years. He shares the passion for education and is excited to join the Books4Kids Jamaica board. Stolt brings his great relationship building skills, wisdom and passion to the board.
John Paul Geurts, Board Member
John Paul Geurts is a global entertainment professional who has spent most of his career creating family entertainment experiences at theme parks and theatres around the world. Geurts has joined the board to support the Books4Kids Jamaica charitable activities and considers it an absolute privilege to help Jamaican children jumpstart their education. He brings his creativity, extensive knowledge of entertainment and project managing skills to the board.
The three join Perolli and Ragni Trotta to form the new charity board.
