ABOUT US
Under the slogan “The future is bright, when you can read and write!” Books4Kids Jamaica is dedicated to providing books and materials to 4 and 5 year old Kindergarten children in Jamaica. Since it’s start-up in 2007, the charity has helped provide more than 300,000 books to 100,000 children in 150 schools across Jamaica’s 14 parishes. The charity receives no government grants and raises all money for its book distribution on an annual basis. More than 300 international sponsors and volunteers have participated in the community initiative, which to date has donated books and materials valued at over US$1,7m. Book4Kids Jamaica is non-profit charity registered in Jamaica.
Our belief is that by “evening the playing field,” we help to make learning a positive experience for everyone and ultimately encourage increased attendance, particularly at rural schools.
